Lindsay (my girlfriend) and I hit the lake monday afternoon from about 4pm until about 30 min. before dark. I brough a tube of crickets, some crappie jigs along with all the normal stuff, just to catch some fish. First we putter around Glade Marina for an hour or so and catch a few bream around the docks.

Then, we head out around the red top area and things got pretty interesting. I headed back into a pocket that I have been doing pretty well in and we just camp out. As we pull in, I notice that there is shad flipping everywhere. I hook up two rods with crappie jigs and put them in rod holders behind the boat. I start casting a shakey head and pick three up in about 5 feet of water around a tree. Lindsay is throwing a beetle spin and she is doing pretty good with the bream. Then, all of a sudden the spots start going crazy back in the pocket.

A crappie rolls up on it side right next to the boat, and then a massive spot comes up and devoures it right in front of me! All of a sudden, shad start flying everywhere and the bass just go crazy on them. I grab a spinner bait and start burning it across the surface. It gets slammed by a nice spot and I let Lindsay finish catching it. Then, I tie on a spit-fire from Bill Lewis and start popping it as hard as I can. A spot comes up and slams it! Three casts later a spot hits it 3 times before he finally gets hooked. Then, the very next cast, another spot crushes it, but pulls off.

The action was fast a furious for about two hours. An soon as the fish would come up, we would throw some topwater and they would NAIL IT. It was fun catching them on top, and I cant wait to get back out there.

All the fish were caught in no more than 5 feet, and most were in about 1.5 feet. All in all a great day, and now for a few pictures...
