My friend and I made a 4 day trip to Pickwick...18th-21st. We stayed at Grand Harbor and fished from there to the bridge. The fishing was unbelieveable. We caught 40 to 50 largemouth a day. Most were in the 2 to 4 pound class. We had a couple about 6. Only 4 smallmouth...3 were about 3 pounds each and 1 smaller. Also had 4 sauger and approximately 20 or so whites and stripes.
I posted this as a heads up to those who fish this lake regularly. The fish were 12 to 18 feet deep on humps, river ledges, and ridges. They were readily visible on a graph. We fished spoons, cr's, DD 22's, Poes 400's, and jigs. To those of you who fish this lake, I salute you. It is one fantastic fishery. I wish the 'hooch had this type of fishing now.
