Been fighting my 07 396 since I bought it. Here what's happening. My boat has a 6" Hydro jacker Jackplate, I can only mount the motor about halfway on it because if I have it down even at halfway, when I tilt my motor pretty far it hits my steering knuckles. I'm having problems with the boat in rough water, can't seem to get the nose up enough to keep from stuffing it. Also it rides pretty rough.
Will it help me to put a 10" jackplate on so I can lower my motor more in rough conditions and keep clear of my steering knuckles? This boat is spooking me in the rough stuff and have got to get something figured out.
I have owned a bass boat since 1984 and am on my second Charger so I know how to run in rough water and have plenty of seat time in a boat. I feel like something would help, just not sure what.
