Hello,
I have a late 2006 18' 7" Champion bass boat with a 175 Johnson 2 stroke engine. I bought it practically new in early 2009 and since then ive put about 15 hours on the engine. when I got it from the dealer I broke it in as per the manual, since the dealer said it was new, but it looked like it was out a couple of times, so who knows if it was used before or not.
The boat is a dream come true but ever since I got it the darn thing stalls a lot at idle, Especially in cold weather. It also sometimes has trouble starting and when you kick it into gear it stalls frequently. It has a hot foot and you practically have to rev it up then kick it into gear, which I imagine isn't good for the gears. Also when im just idling at the dock or idling out of no wake it frequently dies. But once I run it to get onto plane it runs like a dream. Anyone know whats wrong with it???? I took it to the dealer and they said it runs fine out of the water. I don't have a attachment to test it with my hose, so who knows. Lately ive been gettimg my gas at Fry's and it seems to be idleing better then when I was getting my gas at QT. I also use Stabil every time I fuel up.
PLEASE HELP. any input will be helpful.
