Bass fishing yesterday
I have been Crappie fishing since October but decided to fish for bass yesterday on the 26th at Anna. Got on the water at 1pm and went down lake. After all the bait I have seen from the splits up both arms, I was shocked I couldn’t find any bait down lake. The only place I found some bait was idling around dike 3 and there was not much. I found that by watching a loon diving constantly. I was also not graphing fish around deep water points and humps. Surface temps at dike 3 was 55 degrees and above 50 every where I graphed below the power plant. I just couldn’t find a concentration of any type of fish, much less bass. Caught one lousy bass between 1pm and 4 pm even though conditions seemed great. I tried one last underwater point around 4:30. Put the trolling motor down and saw a few fish right on top of the ledge on livescope . Caught 2 bass on jerk bait first 2 casts. First bass rocketed up at least 12 feet and crushed the bait. Caught a 3rd and 4th fish from the ledge in another 15 minutes and headed to the ramp.
I guess down lake is just not where it is at. Seems like the few striper fisherman out did well up lake with the overcast conditions.
was not the day I had hoped for, but much better than a day at work
