The rule for next year is the 6 highest ranked conference champs are auto-ins, 6 at large, 1-4 have byes.... but I think that is only applicable for next year as they didn't anticipate a conference going away. Either way the next 2 highest ranked conference champs will most likely be Texas and Tulane unless someone gets upset...who Ironically according to some forecasts are going to be playing each other in the fiesta bowl. Still not understanding how this is ruining college football. I hear ppl say "it ruins the reg season", "it ruins bowls", "teams will get blown out"....explain how, and how is it different than teams getting blown out now?
But again lets set it up and see how bad it sucks...
Tulane vs Oregon
Ole Miss vs OSU
PSU vs Texas
Bama vs Misery
...sounds awful
