Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm a new owner. I tried to remove the cowling from Mercury 115 4 Stroke CT #2B187251 to check the oil etc by pulling out the lever on the back of the engine but the cowl wouldn't release.
I bought this boat used from a dealer with only 30 hrs on the engine and it doesn't have a manual.
