Hi There Engine Gurus,

I have a 95' Champion with a 200 evinrude limited edition engine. It has an older (i Belive original) teleflex side mount boat control. My brother put a little to much force on the throttle this past weekend and broke it. It would not shift because the bottom of the red finger throttle trigger (the teeth) broke off and was wedged. When I got home I took apart the throttle and removed the broken piece to find that the throttle lever would now move forward and back with no neutral. I took it to the lake and there is only forward throttle now, wether I push the lever back or forward and there is no neutral. The minute the boat starts the prop starts turning. It accelerates normally when pushed forward and also accelarates forward when the throttle is pushed in reverse.

Couple Questions Please

1. Is the red finger trigger mechanism available for purchase without the rest of the control.

2. If not, do I have to use the exact boat control or will a newer model work the same.

3. How difficlut is the install. Im not a mechanic by any means, but I do follow directions well and think If its as or less difficult than installing hydraulic steering (ive done this) then I may be up for it.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
