Hi guys. I live on Lake Eufaula and am involved with the "Save Our Water Lake Eufaula" group. We are trying to have some input on how and when the Corps of Engineers pull down the lake level to produce hydro-power. It is pretty clear that hydro-power generation is the main reason that the lake is so low now, not drought like the Corps would have us believe. I also believe that the artificial management of the lake levels account for the fact that there is little vegetation growing around the shores of the lake.
All that said here's what we need: Comments from fishermen concerning the fishing in Lake Eufaula relative to other State lakes. Ideas on how to make the habitat better for fish populations. Professionals in the fishing industry or government who could lend credibility to my theory about the Corps negatively impacting the fishing and recreation industry in Lake Eufaula.
