Had a club tx this past weekend and it was the best of the year. Caught around 20 small fish in grass before noon and then figured out the big bass were on a reaction bite. Started burning spinner baits and swim jigs in the grass and never looked back. 1st place was just over 13lbs with a big fish at 3.8lbs. 2nd 11.5lbs and 3rd just at 10lbs with 4 fish. Dont know how long the bite will last but man was it fun!!!

I've fished Badin the last 2 Sundays. Like you, caught tons of small fish, but never found the bigger ones.

Well if you go back this weekend try fast reaction baits deep in the grass not just the edge. White spinnerbait worked the best. the faster the better. Never got any hogs but 2 and 3 pounders every 3rd or 4th cast. It seemed to get alot better after 12pm also.

been catching them solid for the last month, at least once a week, sometimes twice. its gotta end sometime, but man has it been fun..

That's awesome guys. Grass first of all and bass in the grass even better. Wish we had some of that green stuff growing in the lake over here.

Thanks for the advice Graham. By any chance, were you guys up near Badin Shores ? We saw a couple guys catch a couple in the same neck we were in up by the golf course. Unfortunately, won't get to go this weekend. Will be out of town for the holidays.

Nope Jim, still right here fishing on the vegetation free Lake Norman. Those guys catching those big ones out of the grass sure make us envy them. Those are some pretty fish over in that lake.
