    Hook Selection Information?

I know I know this ain't the right place to get this info but why not try to get local responces. I am using EWG Gamagatsu(sp) hooks and have been told that straight shanked hooks are better to use either for T-rigging or where any application is needed?

I use both. I like the straight shank for flipping beaver baits and lizards. I like wide gaps for brush hogs and tubes. If what you’re using works, why change

If I am fishing anything plastic, it has a EWG hook in it 99% of the time. I cant say I have missed many fish due to the hook unless the point was rolled or it was bent a little out of shape.

I use EWG on thick plastic baits and straight shank hook on thin long body plastics. I like the point of the hook back as far as I can get it on the long straight tail worms that I sometimes use.

I like very sharp hooks. That helps a bunch. Most of my sharp hooks are EWG.

There you go Richard with the OFF answer. I didn't think I had to go into all the details concerning this inquirey on BBC like on OFF. Yes all the hooks I am inquiring about are razor sharp. Why would anyone in their right mind use a dull hook?

I don't use hooks, they hurt the fish too much.... I'm a fish lover.

Seriously, RB says it best. Why change if it's workin for ya? Spend your money on some nice Sunline fishing line instead.

I don't think I understand what you are saying Don't use hooks!, who is RB and what did he say about the subject, and what does Sunline fishing line have to do with whether to use staight shank or EWG hooks?

    Re: Hook Selection Information? (Speadtrap)

I don't sweat the little stuff. I just throw a hook on the line and fish. Maybe that's why I don't catch too many fish.

I will say that I avoid, when possible, buying Gammy hooks as they seem to bent too easily.
