If ya don't have one already, i would suggest getting a Topo map. There are all sorts of off shore humps, rock piles and old foundations, you don't even have to fish deep if you don't like too cause many of them come up to 4-8ft. If you can't get you're hands on a map drive around and look for the hazard buoys in the middle of the lake (it's very well marked) and fish those humps.
Big spinnerbaits slow rolled along the deep sides of humps, and if you're lucky enough to get a good overcast day, a topwater over the top of them really produced good for me. And then pulling soft plastics from the top off into deep water.
Try to get on the water early if you can. There are a lot of tournaments and pleasure boaters out there.
Thanks for the info ! I have the topo map and see a lot of hazard bouys. I will take a look at them. Any parts of the lake that you prefer?
I mostly fished at the southern End. If you go to lattin's cove, that launch ramp I believe is free. At least it was when i lived there 2 years ago.
People say up around Squantz Cove is really good because that is where most of the tournaments are out of so a lot of fish are released in that cove.
Personally i did most of my fishing at the 4-5 humps outside of Lattin's.
Good luck. It can be an awesome fishery!![]()
