JJ passed away tonight
Anyone who fished barnett regularly knows what a good fisherman and most importantly a kind soul and genuinely nice man he was. My friend will be sorely missed by many. He was like the grandfather I never had. I'm not sure fishing a tournament on barnett will ever be the same. Prayers for his wife, family and friends are needed

Damn! I am so sorry to hear this terrible news.
I new JJ for years when I was Secretary/Treasurer of the Jackson Bass Club back in the 90's. I talk with him every year before I head back down to fish Ross Barnett in the spring. I was planning on calling him next week as we are planning another trip to RB next month.
I will miss JJ.
Anyone know the details? Heart attack, etc?
