    Re: Hey Dirt (willfish4food)

Well, today I'm tired and boint slap up... We fished Bay Springs first from 5:30 till about 10:00, then loaded up and headed to Pickwick. (note to self: NEVER try to fish Pickwick on a Sunday in the summer time) Put in at Stateline and had to park all the way out to the highway. Saw some pretty good scenery though.
All in all, we caught somewhere upwards of 50 - 60 fish between the two lakes, and maybe would have got a small limit out of both, but it was really fun and Cade and I had some good quality time together. Jim, your and Eric's suggestions sorta paid off. We didn't get but maybe 2 of SH, and almost all of the rest came on a crank. The fish had pulled back off the bank, but most came off the floating boathouses. It had to have shade and be floating. On BS, we had to sit in around 20' and the fish came about 6'. There was a tournament at Stateline and the landing was littered with dead 3-4# fish. I'd say prolly 1 out of 5 didn't make it. I wish I knew what those guys were doing because there looked to be some decent sacks (other than all the dead fish), but like I said, we had a blast. I caught one tht was about 4-5" long and Cade actully topped that with a 3" smallmouth. I hope he posts them on FB.. it was hilarious...
    Thanks for the help guys!

Shame that whoever fished that tourney couldnt take better care of the fish. Shoulda picked up the floaters and had a fish fry Nick.
