how do you adjust the idle on a 91 200xp?it was fine for the longest time,and now it wants to drop down to 400-500 rpm and die.what do i do?
There should be a knob sticking out towards the front just above the air box on the left side, this will adjust the idle but, there is also a stop on the other side under the flywheel, FLYWHEELS EAT FLESH, shut the motor off and adjust the stop, the idle should be checked with the motor in the water tied to the dock or tied to the trailer.
This is based on the motor having good compression, good spark and the sync and link being correct.
