is there a bleeding procedure for a 250 DI?

just hooked up the 2003 250 to my ranger. The motor ran great in the shop.As soon as we put it in the water and went to plane the NO oil light came on and put us on limp mode.Is there a bleeding procedure for this or could it be a bad sensor or?

I changed the oil pump on my 03 225 and before I took it to the lake I ran it in the yard on the muffs with a pair of vise grips on the oil return line for a few seconds to get all the air out of the system.

pump the oil primer bulb, but as mentioned the prooper way to bleed the system is the plug or pinch the return oil line for 30 seconds while the motor is running
