johnson outboard 200 hp venom 1996
What would this motor be worth blown up?
The add says 3 cylinders gone and crank is bad. Also get controles and tilt trim.

I posted this in the motor forum got one reply so trying here.
I am not the seller I would be the buyer, poster in motor forum was thinking I am selling it.

I am looking to upgrade now I have a 1989 200 hp mariner would this project be worth the time?

I sent a messag saying I thought the price was high (I booked it on nada running motor said $2000)

Owner sent back "Three separate boat dealers told me to list it for $1800. How much do you want to offer me?"

So what would be a fair price I thought $300 do to it being blown up and needing major fixing

I think 300.00 is more than fair. You are looking at 1500-2000 to rebiuld it right.

Just keep on looking a bad crank is a bad sign. Look for one that has lost a piston. You're lucky to find a good crank for between $500-$1,000. Plus piston kits and machining.
