ANY BODY on the river???
I've always found the fishing pretty consistant since the water temp doesn't fluctuate that much........as you go up from the withla river past a few turns you get to a point where there are a bunch of trees right over the river......right past where you go under a bridge......there is a canal on the left.....pass that.....then a roundish bay on your left.....caught fish in there.......then there is a bridge in the back of that cove you can go under back to a bigger cove........caught fish by that bridge on the drop-offs......plus when you go under that bridge there is a deeper hole off to the right in that bigger cove.
Like Kelly said, he and I have been there several times, look for bays. You will find large deep springs. Use thin line and long casts. Also, don't get caught with drink bottles or cans and plastic bags or trash. You are not supposed to have them on the river and there is no wake on the whole thing. Also there are a lot of tubes and canoes on hot weekends. It is a beautiful river and is a fun place to see fish.
