NoAl Chapter - Sign up here for the July "Trailer Tournament"

The NoAl Chapter's monthly tournament will be a trailer tournament which will be held on the 10th of July. Registration will be at McFarland Park (Florence Harbor) at the small ramp on the far north end of the harbor by the baseball field. I'll be there at 4:00 am to allow everyone ample time to get to the area they want to fish as close to first light as possible. Like last year, this tournament will be limited to Wheeler, Wilson and those portions of Pickwick located within the state of Alabama. Size limits for this tournament are 12" for largemouth and spotted bass, and 14" for smallmouth.

Weigh in will be at McFarland Park Pavilion Number 2 promptly at 1:00 pm. We only have the pavilion reserved from 11:00 to 4:00 so we really need to stick to that schedule as closely as possible. We'll be having a good ol' fashioned cookout afterward and I promise I'll do a better job of getting the food out on time this year. Everyone is encouraged to bring family members or other guests. Just make a note of the number of guests planning to attend when you sign up so I can get a reasonably accurate head count.

For those not familiar with the park, Pavilion 2 is located 1/2 mile past the entrance to the main boat ramp. It will be on the left just across the road from the rest rooms.

Doesn't look like I'll be able to make it. I had to come back to Kansas due to problems with the leg I had surgery on last January. No idea how long I'll be here before heading back to 'Bama - I'm guessing a month or more as I have several different doctors to see while here.

We never have but that doesn't mean we wouldn't. We usually fish Wheeler once a year but it didn't get voted in this year. We usually vote at the last tournament of the year for the coming year. Our schedule can be seen a few threads down under "NoAl Chapter Tournament Schedule for 2010". Are you coming to the July tournament? If so, we can discuss it then! Free food afterward and a great time to meet some of the NoAl guys. You could also put in at Ditto this tournament but you wouldn't have much fishing time since we meet at McFarland Park to start the day and then back at McFarland Park for the weigh-in at 1 p.m. Would make Ditto tough unless your are really on some fish.

Thanks Robert, No worries about that. The last time I fished up there I would have better off stripe fishing. I guess that will be plan B this trip. Wish you could come over and join us.

I hope we wear 'em out, too, but I'm sure not holding my breath. The last couple of weeks has been really, really TOUGH for me and I'd just be happy with five bites.

At least the food and the fellowship ought to be good!
