Fuse blows in tow vehicle ???

I have a 2007 Ford F150 and tow my Triton Marine Master trailer.
Every now and then the fuse blows in the truck that contols the
    trailer back-up.
Yesterday, I was backing in my driveway and it went again. I had NO
more fuses with me so I had to jam nickles in the slide so I could get the
    rig off the road.
Anybody have any idea why the fuse is blowing?? It does not happen
all the time... Maybe 2 or 3 times a year. I replace the fuse and away
I go again for a few months... THEN iblows again.
I checked for shorts, changed the trailer plug, and had my mechanic buddy
do tests and found nothing wrong???
I have no idea why this is happening....

I would disconnect and scrape and grind all my ground connections between the tow and the trailer,... Is your tow ball dirty or rusted???

If the only time the fuse blows is when you are backing up with the trailer.
My guess would be ...you have a bare spot on the back up light wire on the trailer. Whenever it touches the trailer frame it blows the fuse. Check the blue wire on the trailer for any nicks.
    Good luck

Exactly what I would have said. Check the blue wire, something is rubbing or the reverse solenoid itself may be shorting out.

Also check the backup lights on the trailer, they will leak and fill with water.

AHHHHH May be the problem.... I have a bulb out and that
    might be the reason...

i had a 2004 f150 and i bought the fuses in bulk.i even went with larger fuses and it still popped them.never did figure it out.i changed out lights on the trailer and inspected the wires the best i could due to the tube trailer.i traded that truck for a silverado and it never popped the first fuse.i now have a 2011 f150 and so far it has been fine.never could understand what caused this and i never fixed the issue.very frustrating.good luck with finding it!

Don't rely on the ball for ground
Make sure there is a wired ground that runs from the plug to a solid clean spot on the trailer frame beyond any swing tongue

Make sure the ground is clean and connected on the truck end as well
