set up for a 2006 tr200 pulling and tilting to port side

Just got this used 06 tr200 with x hull and 225 opti. Seems to be pulling to the left and tilting to the left until I get trimmed out. The only extra drag I saw was the transducer is a little below the transom. Problem? Also scared my buddy when we hit 57 mph and it started kicking back and forth. He said that seemed very extreme as far as a chine walk goes. He has riden in alot of bass boats. Should I be worried? Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Make sure your steering is tight and has no slop in it

what you are experiencing is the famous Triton Chine walk
Getting the set up correct will lesson the chine but not get rid of it

Proper engine height will be some where around 2.5 inches below the pad give or take a half inch depending on prop and jack plate size

Lastly the only thing that will help you with the chine walk is seat time
Learn to drive a fast boat. Go a little faster each time and learn to control the walk. There is a good article pinned to the top of this forum as well as dozens of posts

Chine walk can be dangerous until you learn how to balance the boat on the pad
Don't try to just keep driving it
Spend the seat time necessary to be safe

I have a 25 tempest and an 8 inch jackplate(I think) with a 225 optimax. Should I start at 2.5 inches below pad. I'm not going for speed I'm going for driveability.

I would, you will be close

I have a TR21 with a 10 inch plate and my tempest is at 2 inches
    plenty of water pressure there

with my 6 inch I ran a Trophy at 2.25 inches above pad

(The Trophy likes to run a little higher than a Tempest)
