Considering buying a 2007 tr20x2 with a 225 pro xs any feedback on this model??

Hey guys I'm new to the triton boats world ive always run an older model ranger but I've won a few tournaments and saved up enough cash to finally buy a sweet newer rig and I saw this triton and really like it I also rode in one prefishing with a friend for a bfl and liked it quite a bit so basically what I'm asking for is just some feedback on the boat any problems associated with them what kind of speeds can I expect chine walk at high speeds handling harsh etc thank you!

I haven't had mine all that long....but I have an 07 20x2 with an 08 250proxs....i understand that the x2 models were designed to be driven with ease by amatuers and more comfortable in rough water.. Speeds won't be as high as the other models. So far I love mine.

You won't have to "drive" this boat. Great ride and lots of room. Gonna be somewhere around 70 MPH at WOT. Not a speed demon but a great fishing platform.

I've had this boat since new...
70-72mph is your top end. I guess that's slow to some however I can out run most of the guys in my club with it.

I'm not sure why it would be described as an amateurs boat like it has training wheels or something, you can still get in trouble if you don't know what you are doing. It does chine walk over 70.

Great hole shot, and when the wind comes up it won't pound you to death.

I have not had any issues (knock on wood) other than normal boat stuff.

The only grip I have is with the fuel gauge. Because its a single 55gal tank, the gauge swings all over depending on how the boat is sitting fore-aft. I can be fishing and it reads just under half, then trimmed out running its on E.

Yepper I know what you mean. I got a Merc Monitor and it'll say 15 gal sitting and get up on plane it'll beep and say 2 gal.
Sometimes I need my ATV when in my boat and sometimes I need my boat while riding my ATV.

What are you guys running for props and prop shaft heights for optimum performance? Just got an 07 20x2 with a 250 pro xs this winter and we still have ice. Looking for a starting point

If you are coming out of a Ranger you will like the similar ride but with more speed. The 250 would get the full performance out of this boat but it looks like from comments above that the 225 does the job. I am running a Fury 25 @ 4" BP and just had Mark Croxton B&B me a 26 Temp+ that I have not had a chance to run yet. By myself with light load I see 72 and with partner, touney load and full livewells I see 69. I hope the Temp+ will carry the load better since it is larger diameter than the Fury. Overall, great fishing platform with larger front deck than most and excellent rough water ride. Good luck and let us know what you decide
