    Mounting a GPS/sonar in a Stratos console

I know this may need to be posted in the "electronics" section. But the question is boat specific and I thought I might get a more accurate and quicker answer here.

I currently have a Lowrance 520c in console and an x135 at the bow of my 2006 Stratos pro xl. I have found a good deal on a new LCX 28 HD, hard to pass it up. So I am going to buy it.

My question is, will the the LCX 28 fit into the "console hole" (2006 200pxl) where the 520 came out of. It is a larger screen size unit, but I don't know about the back portion of the unit and if it will just slide into the same hole. If not I need to order a RAM mount to put it off to the side of the console.

My hopes was that it (the LCX 28) would fit the hole and I could move the 520 to bow, put lcx 28 in console and network them to the already mounted GPS antenna, and be finished with it, and have the x135 to sale.

If it will not fit I will have to mount to a ram bracket off to the side of console. Then what will I do with the hole in the console?

    ADVICE anyone??

Shouldn't be too hard to make/find a plate to cover the hole. Or leave the 135 in there.

Just an idea, but maybe move the 520 up front and the X135 to the console hole so you can run a full map screen on the big one and sonar on the X135 when you are running?
I looked at the larger ones and they wouldn't fit in the hole in my console.

    Problem is solved.

Good idea. 520 to the front, 135 in console, lcx 28 on RAM mount to the side.

I see nothing wrong with this setup. I can have a full map screen (lcx 28) with a full graph (x135) at console while on the move. Plus I'll at least have a back up sonar at console if something misfires. Thanks KENNY

Sounds like you got it figured out. I was gonna say, hold on to that 135 as a back up. If you ever had an issue that would require you to send one off for a few weeks you would have the 135 to use. You dont realize how much help a sonar is until you fish without it.
