Will a Lowrance 520C fit in the dash of an 07 285XL? I have an X52 in there now that I would like to move to the bow and replace with the 520. If it will not fit what do I do with the hole in the dash from the X52?

Do you have an '07? The dash was redesigned in '07 when they made them the floating style cosoles and I thought it was to allow the placement of the 520 size graphs in the dash.

The photo on the Stratos website leads me to believe you could put a 480/532 indash. I don't know if you need another dash plate or if you can dremel out the hole. The recess looks like it is made for the indash lowrance units.

you should be ableto fit the 520 in your dash. you will have to dremmel out the current silver plate that your x52 is mounted to. but, to get the best use of the GPS you may want to go ahead and mount it on a ram mount on the side so you can turn it so it can be viewed from the front deck.
if you decide to do this. you can get another plate similar to the one your x52 is mounted in for about $10-15. if you can't find one, measure the current plate. i have one that may work. let me know.
Space between the tach and speedo on mt Stratos 18 XL was a smidge too small for a regular sized unit.

The consoles on the '07 and up 285's are the same as the 294's and 200's. A 480, 332, 520, etc. will fit.
