    Johnson 115- quit/battery dead

    last run of the year, quit on the water, had to be towed in.
    battery went dead. charged battery at dock - would run but very rough and quit again - any ideas. Has run great, last 2 years, no problems.
    1996 johnson 115 hp , 60 degree, block

    Check the condition of the battery first make sure the water level is topped off. Make sure your battery connections are tight. Take a meter and put it on the battery post and take a reading, start the motor and check the voltage again it should be in the 13+ volt range.

    yes battery was toast - could this account for rough running, after battery charged enough to get boat on trailer ?
