I don't have any complaints about my 06. I probably should have put a 175 on it instaed of a 150, but it runs fine. Lots of storage. Plenty of deck space as mentioned above. It handles rough water fine. I give it an A+

04 tzx190/175 here. Same boat mid sixtys high end can fish really skinny water. Extremely stable fishing platform two people in front no problem. Layout of storage is great and plenty of room. I have been out in some pretty rough water and had no safety issues only use common sense. For an 18.5 ft boat it takes waves pretty good you just have to trim down and slow down for the center rib to cut through the waves. I have had (knock on wood) very few issues. Pay attention to gas issues. use 89 octane if 10% ethanol and use stabil marine fuel treatment on top of the ringfree that yamaha recommends. so far the 175 HPDI has been pretty much bulletproof. If I had to go buy a new boat today I would probably go back with the same rig

Pretty much what's already been said. Mid-60's boat w/ 175 HPDI. Nice layout. Can fish 2 off the front deck. Rear deck has been commented by several as to how spacious it is. A good friend of mine (who is a serious tournament competitor has a 20i / 250HPDI) commented how nice of a 'all around boat' it is and how it doesn't feel like a 'small' boat.

My only complaints ...... The biggest thing I would change about my '05 is the rear storage compartments and they did just that on the '06's and newer. Also, the passenger seat cooler does not keep ice very long in the summer.

I've had it in some really nasty stuff before ........ and it wasn't no 19.5'er ....... but it was good for a 18' boat and it never made me feel unsafe. Like mentioned above, you just had to slow way down and use your head.

If you can afford the motor upgrade ..... go ahead and get the 175 HPDI. It's easy to upgrade trolling motors and electronics later down the road.

Re: zx190... who has them ? (mswings)

I have a 07 ZX190 with a 175 and love it. Had a 06 SX190 with a 150 before and can tell a big difference in the 2. The ZX just seems bigger than the SX. I can fish 2 up front comfortable and has alot of storage for a 18 1/2 footer. Like everyone else has said runs mid 60s full load with the 175. Haven't been on any big water, live on Lay Lake in AL but have been out with 20+ mph winds and stayed dry. I can usually get 2 or 3 tourneys out of a full tank of gas, (has 2 18 gal tanks).

Only complant is the gas tanks. The self venting tanks take alittle longer to fill up compared to the 1 36 gal tank the SX. Overall I love it.
