    Leaky compartment

I have an 05 ZX225. The compartment under the driver seat soaks whenever it rains. I took the carpet out, and that helps it to dry quicker, but it is not a soulution. Any of yall have this problem?

I think all of us with under seat storage has that problem. In my SX190 it leaks if it in the rain. For my boat nothing you can do about it. If that happens, i just get the shop vac out and get the water out and leave the seats open. It's dry by the next day. It does suck but not a worry to me. Of course you have to fish to get that problem.

Yep...get used to it. I don't store anything that can't be gotten wet in it. You might could try putting some kind of seal around the opening but I just deal with it. Taking the carpet out sounds like a good idea. I make sure after I get rained on while fishing that I leave the seat open.

What you mean that is not the extra carpeted livewell??? I had no idea that was storage. I just figured if you caught one of the really hip bass he would enjoy the wall to wall carpeting.

It's for collecting rain water just in case you run out of drinks in the cooler.

Same as my ZX... it's going to get wet just pick and choose what goes in it.

You can always get a sealed plastic container and keep spare baits in there.

I keep spray scents, plastic worm dyes, a dock rope, extra fuel water separator, marker buoys, etc. in there...things that will be okay to be wet temporarily.

    Re: Leaky compartment (Skeeter ZX-190)

Yep same thing in my 2004 ZX225. I've learned to only keep stuff that can get wet in there. I do like the idea of removing the carpet and making sure there is a clear hole for it to drain. Like others, when I know it is wet I leave the seat up for it to dry. In some years I think they put a cooler there, a much better use of the space since it is not carpeted.

    Re: Leaky compartment (frogbite)

Thats where I keep my spare prop, jumper cables in a sealed bag and marker bouys.

This issue has been around for many years.

"Extra carpeted livewell". Thanks guys. At least I know I'm not the only one. I keep my cull system and other stuff that won't hurt to get wet there. Skeeter keeps all the other boxes dry, it just ticks me off about that one.
