    Rub Rail Running Lights

Well, I finally got up enough courage to cut it...use the blue painters tape to mask it off and then marked my location. I then oh so slow and carefully cut the rail leaving a pretty clean opening. Didn't know it at the time but the piece i removed was perfect for the backing of the light and just used 3M decal tape to secure it and then the light with the same tape to that...a little black 5200 around the openings and she's done....super brite....

    Nice job!

Will that meet the CG regulations and local law requirements? That would be a great option if it does.

Thats awesome... I put a very small strip of white lites under my trolling motor pedal to make the tray glow when i'm night fishing...

Ya think that tape is going to hold the lights in well enough to handle the abuse of summer heat and winter cold and heavy boat traffic? I love the idea and they look great.

have you used that tape...i built game (deer) cameras for years and bought a roll of this stuff and it's for real....don't stick it if you don't want it there...and with the 5200 sealing it off i'm good...

Now your next project will be installing the anchor light on top of the cowling.

That would be even better since it's higher than the cowling.

Will those work with old style "rope" rub rails? Where did you get them? That is a very slick install and looks terrific. Great job!

Very nice looking set up. That has to really stand in in low light conditions like early morning and night time running. Do they have the black lights for night fishing you could install like that?
