Almost official Phoenix 721 owner ...

I finally took the plunge and bought a brand new high performance boat! I have been on these boards for years and learned a lot. Fished California and Lake Mead out of a Tracker for many years with a good buddy and now I live in Texas! Big waters…big boat!

I narrowed my selection from Skeeter FX20/I20, to Bass Cat Puma, and the Phoenix 721 and chose the Phoenix.

My thanks go out to the Bass Cat boys that helped me:

    • Darryl Kees of Paydirt Custom Jigs who took the time from these boards to take me on my first ride in a Bass Cat Pantera IV. He is a great guy and the PIV is terrific! His products are great also!

    • Mike Lott who showed me the Puma FTD and explained the differences between the different models.

    • Cliff Brown from Texas Boat World, Harker Heights TX, who is one of the best boat dealers that I encountered. His prices and customer service was excellent.

The Phoenix fit my needs and style better and I loved the ride, handling and features. I ordered one with the 250 SHO, MK 101 – 36v and the standard Humminbird 998si in console and 958 in the bow. Got a few trailer upgrades with dual brakes and I thought I’d try having shocks to keep the bird comfortable.

    My Phoenix thanks go to:

    • Chuck Daymude who got me started on the Phoenix.
    • Josh Aukes at David Fritts Outdoors, Lexington, NC who helped with info and great customer service.
    • John Odom of Marty’s Marine, Osage Beach, Missouri who sent me some great photos.
    • Both of these dealers were great but I just could not resolve the logistics of the purchase with me being in south east Texas. I highly recommend them to others that can!
    • Scott McGehee who shared his experiences with the Phoenix 721.

Last but not least my thanks go to Jeff Hartung of Phoenix and Brent Abernathy at Shipps Marine in Gladewater, Texas for their excellent communication and customer service. They are interested in your business and show it. Give them a call for your next boat!

All of these folks came from the Bass Boat Central boards and forums and if it were not for this site, it’s members, and especially AL for its existence, I would have been lost in even thinking about buying a premium rig!

Thanks to everyone for their participation in these forums!

Falcoon … rising from the ashes …….

P.S. I am a "true" customer and have no financial interest in any of my comments! I'm just happy to be here ... (Phase four of bass fishing...)

Many many congratulations Les. You did a stellar job of sorting through the "noise" and filtering out the insignificant from the significant and and making the best decision for your needs.

The Bass Cat is a heck of a boat but like you, I prefer the ride and fishing platform of the Phoenix best and when the TM is down it simply fishes better for the type of water I find myself in and offers a tall long legged guy like me more footing which is more stable and that goes a long way with me.

I know the wait will seem long but it'll go faster than you think. Can't wait to see the new bird! Again, many congratulations!
