    nitro 2011 z-8 wheel bearings

    how hot are the wheel bearings suppose to get i just got mine out of the shop and they said they fix them but when i got home i could put my hand on it and it was pretty hot not hot enought to burn your hand if you held on to it but pretty hot. thats the wheel that supports most of the trailer the other ones or not hot at all.i do not need to break down because i am 61 years old do all dual trailer bearing get hot this is the first dual wheel tariler i have owned so i do not know how hot they are suppose to get z-8 2011 they said they replace the pads and the master cylinder and he said they drove it around and it was not hot but it was pretty warm when i got home

    They will get fairly warm to the touch right after trailering but not so hot that they burn your hand. Are all 4 bearings about the same temperature or is one warmer than the others. If one is a lot warmer I would get it checked out. Better be safe than sorry.

    On my trailers, ~ 90-100 deg after an extended drive @ highway speeds, measured with an infrared thermometer.

    On mine, the back two bearings get hot but doesnt burn. I can keep bare hand on it. The front two bearings stay much cooler. most of the weight is on the back bearings. I hope its ok, been like this for a few years now with no trouble.

    Which axle has the brakes on it...front or rear ? An axle with brakes on it will get hotter than one without.

    The friction caused by the pads on the brake rotors create more heat.

    Maybe, the brakes may be dragging. MY axle also has brakes, and you see the temps IO get above.
