i have a 1997 johnson 200hp- J200STLEUB and i can not get over 3200 R.P.M.'s, i have changed the stator, powerpack, spark plugs, compression is about 120 all 6 cyl. could it be the timer base or do i need to rebuild the carbs? please help

Remove the air box with the engine off and move the throttle to wide open, see if all the throttle plates move to wide open, check the bottom two by applying pressure to them, if they move you have found your loss of RPM.
Did this problem just start or have you done something to the motor?
no it just started from what i understand i just bought the boat from a friend, took it to the shop and they told me that the stator was bad so i changed it out

if they do move is there a way to adjust them?
So this motor has run this way from the day you bought it?
