    Proud New Owner

Just bought my first Gambler last Friday. 2002 Gambler 2100 w/ 2002 Mercury 225 EFI(4 blade prop). Having trouble with chine walking at top end, so any suggestions would be helpful.

They all do that brotha. Just gotta get some seat time in it. Best thing to do is get a buddy, 30 gallons of fuel to start. As you learn and get more comfortable with the feel of it then you start dumping weight out of the boat. Good Luck and post a pic

Like they say you have to learn to drive these boats. I've had mine for just over a year...all I can say is I can't wait for the next time I get to go!

fill the passenger livewell, that will help out to a bit. Just go easy on the trim at top end. Get settled in and used to the setting that your at then one bump then settle in, then repeat. Soon you'll anticipating the walk and will no excactly what it needs. Don't rush the trim. Let it catch up before making adjustments.

Be sure to balance the boat out! Take off and cruise slow while still being trimmed down. If you can physically see that the boat is not flat and level then add weight till it is. Usually I filled the pass livewell full of water till it balances or runs level. If you don't you will have a hard time with it.

Re: Proud New Owner (low slung cruiser)

Balanced boat is the key even if you have to add weight. Get one out of balance and it's hell to drive for top speed.

Mine doesn't really chine walk at all. Just is wobbly if it's bad out of balance.
    As does most boats.
