removing seat backs ?

trying to remove my seat (bench) backs on my 98' outlaw and cant figure out how they come out.the upolstery is attached to a fiberglass backing.is it screwed in from the battery well side.if so im going to have to remove the gas tank.that doesnt look easy or very fun.any help would be appreciated!thnx,mike

You will at least have to un-mount the gas tank and slide and tip it back to reach the fasteners.

what type of fasteners?

Mine were bolted in place. I think it was 1/2 inch and a long socket.
