    Proping a 209 with an 04 225EFI. Any suggestions??????

Playing with props and trying to see what holes I need to use to mount the boat to the transom. I'm having a hard time getting much bow lift at mid range speeds. Tried a 28 trophy which worked well for stability by myself; however, fished a tournament Sat and with a full tank, one livewell and partner... well it was a little much for the 225. I havea 27 tempest plus but the boat is squirrly and on the rev limiter. Any suggestions on holes and props, Thanks.

from the stuff others are posting & just general verbage around the campfire
    19' w/ 200 = 25-26 four blade of your choosing
    20' w/ 225 = 25-27 four blade of your choosing
    20' w/ 250 = 26-28 four blade of your choosing

most guys prefer the Bavo 1 worked w/ dual PVS holes, mainly supposed to be stronger prop ears than Trophy Plus.

For handling rumor has is stick w/ 4 blade, for total top end speed 3 blade.

you will need a 27p with pretty much whatever route you take... You could have the Tempest worked to get you where you need to be, but it will take a little more to drive it and not be quite as stable as a Trophy or TRO4. If you get a Trophy, you should have it b&b'd to prevent throwing a blade. The Powertech TRO4 is a good prop as well, and doesn't seem to have a problem with throwing blade's like the Trophy's do.
As far as engine height, you want you propshaft to pad level at 2"-2.5" below the pad. Measure the height, and you will save yourself lots of headache's trying to find the sweet spot.

The Bravo I 28 worked by Mark Croxton to include the dual PVS holes will allow you to get out of the hole like a rocket even with 2 big fisherman, gas, & tackle. Top end should be low to mid 70's with this set up. Mark is on this website so he is easy to get a hold of and he will have your prop back to you in a week. I absolutely love mine and my Gambler which was slow out of the hole with the tempest, is now super fast. Trust Croxton. He is an expert on the Bravo I conversion for Gamblers.
