Jeff, the paint that the dealerships carry in the spray cans by OMC or Bombardier are the correct paints. Most local dealers here only carry a couple usually the current mods., but the original paint in those cans have the TEMPO sprayer and do a darn good job. It's been a long time ago when I did a cowl but I will refresh my LU when necessary.....
The paint is very fast drying and durable even on the LU, sev. light coats and wet sand in between and use a buffer to bring it out shiny and wax it....or put on new decals................G

Ditto, on the paint from your local dealer unless you have spray equipment then you could go to your local auto paint store and get your paint there.

The PPG number is available for your motor. You can buy the paint in pints and shoot it with a spray gun if you know how to shoot paint. The dealer cans are just for touch up.

Painted my cowl over the winter. Bought the paint at a local auto paint dealer for $30. Got a guy that painted it and cleared for $175.

    Looks like a new one..

    Want his number??

    Rmart30 and lunkerhunter,

If you guys already have spray equipment and have been spraying automotive, type paints then you know that you can get the paint codes for practically anything/color right at the paint store,
. . . and iffing dey don't have de paint color you want dey kin mix it up fo yo write dare in dey stoe!

All jokes aside, just check at your local auto paint supply store they will have the codes.
