WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Was wondering you Champ guys could help me make a decision on what boat to buy next. I do know it will be a Champ, but don't know which one. I like bigger type boats with large front decks. My last boat was a Gambler 2100, before that was a Z21 Ranger, before that was a Cougar FTD, ZX 250 before that. I have never owned a Champ but have ridden in a few.....love the ride( kinda like the Basscat ). Anyway, I think that I have narrowed it down to the 203 206 or 210. What are the main differences in these? Any input will be Greatly appreciated!!!!!!

I have a 2001 206 and love it. Plenty of room, fast enought for me (65 gps), and very stable fishing platform.

The 203 is the Classic Champ....20'3" with 90" beam. The 206 (depending on year) and the 210 are the beam-forward, wide-bodies. 206 is 20'6" and the 210 is 20'10". Both have 95" beams and the bow doesn't immediately start narrowing at the consoles... They have larger front decks than the 203, but all 3 are really great models.

Tough decision...I hope you can get to run each before deciding...

Best ride will be the 203, although all 3 will have a very good ride and solid feel. I have a 210 and the amount of storage is massive. It also has a bit more front deck area over the 206 due to the beam forward design.

As I understand, the 210 also has a bit more lift than the 206. I've not ridden in a 206, so I can't tell you first hand. According to Jason Bragg, the 206 hull was tweakded some for the 210. The 203 & 206 are both Mountian Home designs, with the 210 being a Genmar boat.

I own a 206, can't speak for the 203 or the 210, but their hull designs don't change so I think you can't go wrong with either one of the three, excellent boats.

I agree all 3 will ride great. I have a 210 and love the front deck room. Very stable, sits higher out of water than most boats and will require alittle more TM but is roomy and a joy to drive.

All three will offer a good ride, I've owned three 203's and one 210, ridden in a 206. The 203 to me was more like a corvette with the 206 and 210 being like a caddy with the 210 being a bit faster than the 206.

Although the 203 does have a very good ride I am very impressed with the 210, IMO the 210 is the best all around boat of the three but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three.

What years are you looking at? The 210 is the only one still being built, but all 3 can be found used and in good shape.
