    Hole shot question ?

Pat hooked me up with my jackplate height on my 206. Runs 70 mph gps. By my self. Finaly caught some fish, so I had a full live well. Trimed the motor all the way down and hit the hot foot. Nose pointed to the sky and took 10 to 15 seconds to come down on plane. Boat runs 68mph by gps, with two two hundred pounders, full fuel, and tx tackle. And the full live well. 25 tempest plus, 3.5 inches below pad. All three exhust holes have large open plugs. Your help please.

I would knock out a plug at a time, and see if it helps. What are your R's when you mash the pedal during launch?

To be honest, I didn't look. Now the plugs have holes that are already open. If I knock out the plugs won't that possibly give me more exhust blow out?

If it is blowing out, then disregard my previous advice

For some reason I was thinking you weren't spinning up enough, there I go thinking...

If it is spinning high R's and not getting a grip, then get some more plugs with smaller/no holes and start experimenting. Or as Pat has taught this grasshopper, tape the holes with gorilla tape, whatever that is , and see if it makes a difference, then you will get an idea what plugs you need.

Pat or others can confirm or correct me, but on my boat it turns about 3500-4000 R's on take off, depending on what prop I have on. It literally jumps out of the hole medium load, and about 3 seconds loaded up.

no I haven't tried any other props. The boat runs great other than this. I can deal with it, if there isn't anything else to try. I'll just roll into the take off.

When I was experimenting with different setups, on my 2006-206 you would have to give up one or the other, topend or getting on plane. With all your weight in the rear I found that the dead rise is what it is on takeoff. On the other hand I could get a better hole shot and suffer on topend. I found that my buddy's 206 did the same. Remember that's a large boat and it takes all the power it has to get it on plane. 10-15 seconds is a bit long though.

My 206 does the same thing if it is full of fuel and the live wells are full. Try pumping some of the water out before you take off and it will help alot. That live well holds about 35 to 40 gallons and at 8.33 lbs per gallon thats an extra 300 pounds. Also I run the same setup as you and have found that one large plug and the other 2 holes no plugs at all, let me spool up to 3400 rpms with really helps. Tried different plug combinations along with 3 large plugs and never could get above 2800 rpms. Try removeing one or two plugs and see if that doesn't help.
    Good luck,

I will give that a try the next time I'm out. Thanks all for the suggestions.
