    Considering a Job In Florida

Considering a Job in the Gainsville area, is there a good Evinrude dealer there or near bye? Also, my old username and password did not work and the "forgot password" function never emailed me my info. I just re registered, anyone else have that problem?

    Thanks,

    Jim

I don't personally know of one in Gainsville but there may be.

Beck's Outboards in Jacksonville FL is first-class on Evinrudes.

If at all possible and your next career consideration is dependent on a good Marine service center, I'd consider a job in either White Bluff, Tennessee or Gallatin, Tennessee .... C & O Marine has service shops in both locations with the best marine technicians available anywhere for all three (Rudes, Mercs, and Yammers), especially ETECs...... tight lines

I looked into moving down there appox 7 years ago. We always go down to the inlaws in Feb and its so nice. I took 2 weeks off in July and Aug. and that changed my mind real quick on making that move. All I can say is spend some time there first in the summer first.

Stay away from Florida, take it from someone who lives in Florida, Well at least ( South Florida). The cost of living is very high, Taxes and Ins. If you love to live among millions of people, and love Hurricanes ,well come on down. If you like, I'll sell you my house, cause I'm moving to Tennessee. I'm having a house build in South Pittsburg Mountain, Tn as we speak. Beautiful area and friendly people, popullation, ( 3,286 ) in the city, where I'm at in the mountain ( 43 ).

PS. You better be making at least $60,000.00 a year , if you want to survive in Florida. My wife and I make around $85,000.00 and we are barely making ends meat.

Fl is hot but lots of people live there, the job may be to good to pass up. I will definately keep my week in Canada just to cool off. I would love to live in Tennessee depending on where my kids settle that could be my first stop after an early retirement. Thanks.

Well Gainesville (correct spelling) is not Pembroke Pines. It is hot, being located in the center/north section of the State. Cost of living is about the same as anywhere else in Fl. In the summer, you have a little more breathing room as the Gator Nation heads to the beach. As a native of the Sunshine State, I grew up in Miami. I watched it change from a sleepy little town into a suburb of Latin America. Hell, Pembroke was nothing but cows. Rode out Hurricane Andrew (and a few others) in my home in Perrine. Times change. South Florida was overrun from both the south and north. I was transfered to Tallahassee in 99 and I've seen the change in this town too. A lot of people survive in this State for a lot less than $60,000 a year and buying a house in this market will ease some of the sticker shock. If you like live oaks and spanish moss, Gainesville has all you need. Just remember though, it will change. Just ask the native sons of South Pittsburg Mt. Tn.

Bob, you are right there buddy. Gainesville is nothing like Pembroke Pines. You live in Heaven and I live in Hell. "Yes Hell, if you know what I mean. I also agree with you on the issue of TN changing, but I figure it's going to take about 10-15 years for that to happen and at the age of 60 , I really wouldn't care. I love Florida, well Central and North Florida, but I just need to get away from the millons of people here for now and my wife loves the mountains ( Hills of TN. )

Well good luck to ya. I'm right behind you at 56 but I haven't found my "spot" yet. Maybe a nice quiet lake with a pontoon boat and a blender.
    Keep us posted.
