    Need suggestions

Hi all. I'm going to take a winter project and replace the plumbing to my livewell with new pumps and aerators. Do you think I should put in bigger pumps or more. I have one aerator now and I think newer boats have two. Should I think about a pump out system or is it not worth it?

If i were you, since i am sure this job is going to require to remove everything and you dont really want to do it again, i would add an extra bilge pump, i think 2 750's would be good that is usually standard on most boats,,as far as livewell pump out i would rather add a 3rd bilge pump over that, i have one and it nice but not a neccesity...

Agree on the 2 bilge pumps, but I have had 2 Champs without livewell pump-out and now have pump-out on my current Champ. If I get another, it WILL have pump-out!

I'll never have another bass boat without a pump out. Once you have one you'll wonder how you did without it!

My current boat has a 750GPH fill and a 1000 GPH recirc if I am not mistaken. I can turn them both on at the same time and fill it up in min's. I get ready to drain it to cull (SELDOM ) or get my one fish out at weigh in (OFTEN ) it's over quick. While fishing in hot weather you can really move some water with the big recirc pump. You can only overflow water so fast on incoming water, that would be what limits your fill pump.

As to bildge pumps, my last Champion had two pumps. One 750 GPH manual, one 1000 GPH auto. I had to custom order it that way. I never needed both pumps.

My current boat has one pump that has an auto switch. I can use it on auto or manual. If I had ordered the boat I'd have the two pump system again. Either way if you really get in trouble you cannot pump water out fast enough to stay up. All it takes is a couple over the bow and you're full, two pumps just may get you back in case one fails.

    My 2 cents worth.

I went up to 1,000 GPH on all mine last year... Also installed one of these on the bilge:

There are no moving parts or floats to get stuck on this switch. Wired it (per instructions) to my existing wiring for a simple ON/OFF manual switch and one hot wire directly to the battery. I love it when things come together as advertised & would recommend this upgrade solution to anyone doing annual maintenance on their bilge who does not already have an auto bilge

I read in an article recently where a touring bass pro actually put only a 500gph for recirculating. I think it was so he could run it continuously without draining the battery as much. Just a thought. I would definitely have the max your hoses could handle for bilge and pump out though.

Re: Need suggestions (U.S. eh Champ!)

Thanks. I rarely use my bilge the way it is so I don't think I need 2, but maybe a replacement as long as I have it out. I like the pump out idea I think it would be nice to have and then I can leave my valve open all the time and just plug it inside and therefore I won't have to replace the cable to the valve.

you may hardly ever use your bildge but it only take one time when you will wish you had it id say its worth putting 2 in it
