    First boat's a Champion!

Hello my new Champion family. I purchased my first boat last week, 1999 193elite 200efi, and have a quick question. I purchased two new seat posts and they appear to be too big for the holes. What gives? I had to hop up and down on both of them to get them in the holes and the peg still won't lock because I can't turn the post to line it up with the hole (if it's even in far enough). The guy at Cabela's says it's the only size made. To be honest, if they are the wrong size I don't think I can get them out of the holes to return. Could the holes have gotten smaller over time? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks, Darin
P.S. I tried posting a pic but was unsuccessful.........

Congratulations on the new ride. This is a pretty common problem on the Champs. There was a post on here just a few weeks back in fact. A couple different solutions were to use some type of lubricant or to actually lightly sand the inside of the hole. If the pedastal posts are indeed the right ones you may want try one of these solutions.

Welcome to the family and congratulations on gettin it right the first time out of the gate.
You simply can't make a mistake buying a Champion boat. Good luck trying to stay off the water--that new rig will want to go every day

Darin, my boat had just had new carpet installed when I bought it, had the same issue as you. I was able to cut around the inside of the post hole with an exacto knife to fix my problem. Hope this helps, and good deal on your first Champion!
