How much speed can I get by using a 10, 12, 14 inch jack plate on a 210. What is the difference in all the sizes as far as speed goes? Is bigger better????

I have a 14 now with a 225 Ficht and I need the extra inches to fit the boat in my garage. Will I loose anything changing it out? I dont want to loose any speed. I dont care to much for the Ficht but I cant change it out yet. It will have to do for a season or two.
10" is supposed to be the best all around on the 210 !
I take that back I have a 12 inch plate. Does 2 inches make any difference?
my 210 has a 10" plate and a 225 HO rude, does great![]()
from my experience, the bigger the plate the better the top end(not so good holeshot), and the smaller the plate the slower the top end( awesome holeshot), I have 12" on my 210( Detw, Hyd Plate and slidemaster) and it does pretty good
as far as going to a 10" plate, it depends on what you want out of your boat

how does the "extra inches" make it fit in you garage????
I need two more inches for the front of the trailer to clear my wifes car. I have tried everything to make her fit. I have a 210 Blazer..With a 12 inch plate it is very long.
