Went back to the knee doc

I had a follow up with the knee doc yesterday. I've been going to PT 3 days a week since the surgery. He said everything was coming along nicely, but was still concerned with the swelling on the inside part of the knee even after minimal activity but that is where most of the damage was. I though I was gonna get to go back to work on April 16th, but he thinks I should take a few more weeks just to be in safe side. I'm guess I'm a little disappointed I thought I would have gotten to go back at the 6 week mark. Anybody got any opinions on this? Should I go back or take the extra 2 weeks?

Follow your Dr's advice and take the additional 2 weeks to heal if you have the time. If you don't have the time then go back to work.

Do as the doc says Jim. You are on your feet a lot at work...no sense in messing your knee up again.

Take the Drs " Professional Medical Advice"..... It's good to never seek either legal or medical advice on a Bass fishing site you'll most likely end up losing your cash and we sure don't you to end up crippled up so you can't work or fish in the future..

I had my meniscus worked on just over 4 weeks ago. I took 4 workdays off, plus a weekend for a total of 6 days. Knee felt great when I headed back, I was walking all over the place. Since that time the knee hasn't stopped hurting. PT three times a week but I work every day. If I had it to do over, I would take more time off, I had around 80 sick days but didn't want to use them.

    Re: (jigman51)

Dont know what kind of surgery you had, but i tore my patela tendon Dec, 23. and had surgery Dec. 29th, was doing PT for 2 months and everything was going good, had full range of motion back and was walking on my own again. Well i retore my patela tendon again about 3 weeks ago at physical therapy, doing a excercise where i stand on one leg, my knee gave out and i fell. Had surgery again, about 2 weeks ago and i got to start all over, only this time it was a more involved surgery. So you can probally guess that i would say take the Docs advice and strengthen your leg a little more before you go back to work, especially if your job requires alot of physical activity.

Also i dont know your financial position either, so take it for what it is worth. Good luck.

What is that suppose to mean. I believe everyone has agreed to take the Docs advice, then you come up with some stupid comment.

Don't make the mistake and try going back early, Listen to your Doctor and follow his orders.
