SOB Bonehead of the day award goes to me...

is there a way to pull a dent out of an aluminum garage door? Not a flat panel its textured so suction cup is out.

Got in a hurry coming up the driveway and misfired by about 3"

You can try drilling a small hole, put a sheetmetal screw in it about half way, pull it out with some vise grips, remove screw, fill with JB weld, and repaint

    Oops.....

If you can find some caulking that will match the color of the dook, then one option is to can drill a small hole that you can hook something in to pull the dent out.

Is it steel backed or just insulation? If it is just vinyl insulation you can get that out, beat out your dent, and then put the insulation back in. I wouldn't think it would be a steel backed door in a residential application but it could be.

Im with Paul pop it out from the inside, double wall should be close enough together that if one side was dented it probably went to the other layer too... maybe...

Before you drill and pull, try gluing a nail with silicon or some other glue that you can remove later and try and pull it out with that first.

I wish I had a little dent in mine. I came home from fishing one night and hit the door button so the garage light would come on. Well the door actually went down about 8 inches and I caught the bottom of the door on the motor. Ripped the whole damn thing down.

Take a buffer and buff the dent. Get it good-n-hot. Might come back on it's own while you're buffing it.

Actually I just drilled it from the inner layer and took a small dowel and tapped in back out.

I filled the inner side with a pinch of JB weld and were good to go.

    Thanks everyone!

I did the same thing last year and I'm still catching hell from my wife. I'm thinking about getting a new door just to make it stop.
