    New F150 EcoBoost!!!

Today I had the chance to hook my 911CDC up behind the all new 2011 f150 EcoBoost. For those who don't know the EcoBoost is a V6 twin turbo new motor for ford in the F150. It has an outstanding 420 flbs of torq at 2200rpms. I wanted to see how it would pull the boat. I currently drive a f150 2006 king ranch with the 5.4 ltr that pulls the boat just fine. As I took off north bound on 540 I could tell a huge difference. It was almost night and day between my truck and the EcoBoost. The EcoBoost didn't miss a beat and Pulled much better then my 5.4. The new EcoBoost is rated at 16mpg in town and 22mpg on the highway. This motor really impressed me at how effortlessly it pulled the boat. If you get a chance go check one out at Lewis ford. They will let you hook your boat up to see for your self.

This truck is definitely going to change the game. Right now they have 0% for 60m and a $1000 trade in bonus. Going to really have to think about this one.

Everybody that has drove one has really been impressed! I work there and still haven't taken the time to drive one. My boss which has a 5.4 in his said it was really impressive on the power of the ecoboost V6,and would just put his to shame. So when you getting yours A.J.?? Your going to have to get a different color than what i seen you in,that blue is pretty but just doesn't match your boat.

Hey mike, I'm having Matt put some numbers together for me. I wasn't really digging the blue either. Thinking either white or black! Man did that truck pull good. It was very smooth and it didn't even feel like it was working the motor at all. I'm also in the proccess of trying to find some new wheels for my trailer. Looking for an 18 with a 0 offset which isn't easy to find.

Sent you an im on the wheels. It may or may not help. Here is a link as well, but they only have up to 17" wheels. They are pretty sharp, and tires would be a little cheaper than the 18" tires. http://www.trailerandtruckpart....html

    Re: (xpress spanky)

Rant time, and nothing against Ford. (just basically all the companies claims of more more more power and better better better mileage).
I guess ya gotta blow your whistle, jump up and down, and toot your horn about something...sure. BUT, At a little 10hp gain per year, a new Camaro oughta have 700hp and get 80mpg.

Guys, my 10yr old beater has over 320,000 miles on it, Will pull that new F150 down the hwy sideways, AND...get 22mpg while doing it.
.....And 10yrs from now, It will be worth more......

SO, (any manufacturer) What's the new improved?
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

Your rite Dano, but your Cummins is a diesel!! For a gas burner they are impressive, plus the motor companies have to jump thru hoops to meet all the bullsh!t regulations out there.Thats why your seeing all the hog piss injection (exhaust fluid) showing up on diesels.

    Re: (xpress spanky)

A V-6 gas burner with two turbo's in a truck though?
I'm sorry, Just not my cup of tea for towing. That's alot of strain on a buncha little light weight parts.

For a little hot-rod run around truck?
    Fits the bill perfectly.

There's the problem Danny, your talkin Truck and a 150 is a pickup. It definately won't hold up or pull with a diesel, but for some of the times you need a little more ump,you got it. They are fairly lightweight parts in the motor, but are pretty dang tough for what they are.

You might want to go drive one. It just might impress you. On another note I don't think you can really compare your deisel to it. Ya I would hope yor diesel would pull better then a v6 twin turbo, but then again Im Sure the new scorpion motor would probably pull your dodge down the road sideways. Who knows.

    Re: (PurpleHeartVet187INF)

God I hate to do this, but

I agree with Danny whole heartedly

When I hear A small V6 gas burner with twin turbos, to tow with I think about going through the Ozarks in the summer time with not one heat pump hanging off the side of the motor, but 2. The cooling system on that truck better have 3 radiators. When I had a small Ford car that had 1 turbo on it heat buld up was alway a problem. Hell even after a short 5 mile trip to work the turbo would be cherry red. I can only imagine 2.

There better be a good heat resistant paint on that hood to.

    Re: (xpress spanky)

HMM liquid cooled? Seems to me that all turbos were liquid cooled, used the oil from the sump.

Is this a seperate cooling system from that?
