Yamaha Ox66 150hp- want more speed- Hydrotec?? what stage??

I have a 2004 Yamaha OX66 150hp engine, it is on the rear end of a Skeeter ZX190.........


With a full tournament load and two people in the boat I see around 58mph at max, the prop is a little scrapped up too though.


I was wondering if the hydrotec phase 2 would get me close to 70? is there a phase 3? How hard is it to install these kits, I have a friend that worked in a marina as a tech so I am sure he could install it with me. Does the engine need to be retuned?

The Phase 2 Kit will gain you 45hp on that engine. Depending on your setup now, you can expect a gain of 3-5 mph.
No additional tuning is required, but I would definitely make use of your mechanic friend, as installing this kit is a fairly big job to someone who has never done it before.

Just take your rig to Mat and let the guys have at it (they have more than just the "Kit") They could get you to 70 I bet!
