    The "RV" section

Several (way several) years ago. Me, Sharon, and a couple of my friends decided to go camping at MillWood.
We loaded up the truck with EVERYTHING needed, and more, for a four night stay.
(Yes, the truck looked like Beverly Hillbillys...as did we).

We get there about dark thirty and are cruising the park looking for "just the right site"....and it's dark, so, we have to all get out and check out the interesting sites every few minutes.

We end up making a loop through the "RV section" which...is pretty packed with $100k + RV's.
Three older gents (mid 70's) stop us. Walk up to the window and ask what we are doing. We explain it to them with smiles on our faces and I feel we did a good job. (we were really nice, cheerfull, up beat, kind, and we all had our beers hidden).
"You all do realize you're in the "RV SECTION", Don't you?
"Yes sir, We are just looking for a campsite"
"That area would be over there (points way away) down on the other end of the park".
"Uhh, no sir, we have been down there and that is "primitive" camping. No power".
"Well, this is the "RV section" and you can't stay here".

Jody, in the back seat, always the wit of the bunch. Blurts out "Ain't it a little late for ya'll to be out this time of night?"
    "No son, we're on patrol"
    "You all work here?"
"No, This is the RV section and those are our RV's". "This section is for "RV's" ONLY".

So, we finally scrape the "RV patrol" off the side of the vehicle, see ONE open spot right in the smack dab middle of them. The view was WHITE and CHROME on three sides. BUT, We were all in agreement...WE FOUND THE PERFECT SITE.

Nobody is BETTER THAN US at any campsite...No matter how much their "tent" cost.

We woke up the next morning from the sound of diesel engines leaving..

The moral of this story? There is no moral, but, we can go camping anywhere and have something to talk about, and usually do. "THE RV SECTION"
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

That's some true stuff. I can't even set the tent up in the back yard without the words "RV section" being mentioned.

We get the same kind of looks when we drag the ol' Coleman pop up into a site. Like "WTF is that?"
Then comes the second tow vehicle with the bass boat .
String up various light fixtures throughout the camp....."bobbers", "bass", "color lamps", rope lighting and more.
Thank God for the 50 amp breakers ......
Cook out side with the propane burner mounted on the side of the camper, right next to the mini fridge .
Inside, the 13 inch tv plays video tapes and playstation 2 ......satellite? who needs satellite? Satellite tv is not REAL camping....

We don't even take a TV when we go camping....if we are at a campsite, we are probably at lake which means fishing....If we are in the deer/turkey woods, there is no electricity so the TV is useless...

The tv is so the kids can watch the Bill Dance video series and In fisherman How to videos. Playstation 2 plays the Classic Patterns dvds and also Bass Fishing 2009 video game. Gotta have some quiet time before bedtime.........

We do take the dual portable DVD player....so they can watch movies if needed...but they'd rather be outside playing.

Don't we all want to be outside! We are all kids when it comes to the outdoors...see what's around the bend, under that rock, etc....
