Re: Need setup info for Bullet 21 RDC (triton1cos)

I'd recommend a 27 Turbo TXP o/t 4 with PVS holes, 28 BRAVO1 worked for a Bullet with dual PVS holes or a 28 Hydromotive Quad IV O/B with dual PVS holes. I don't recommend any of the ones you mentioned. I run the same boat with a MERC 300XS 1.62 SM. My favorite prop is a 28 Turbo TXP o/t4, and I have tried everything except the Hydromotive, but everybody swears by it so that is why I included it in my recommendations.

Looks like a lot of people on BBC with the 21 footers using the 26 or 27 Trophy's.
It's hard to say what the best average prop is I guess. So many people getting decent results with a wide range of setups. I have a feeling the Trophy's are being used a lot simply because dealers stock them extensively.
I think I'll give the folks at Hydromotive a buzz and see what they've been recommending for the 21' Bullets w/ 250 Horse motors. So far I'm liking what I'm hearing about the Quad - 4 props.

    Thanks

This is it exactly. My personal preference is the bravo's just for the hole shot loaded down and ready to fish, it won't be the fastest but it will jump you on plane quick and carry a load!

Re: Need setup info for Bullet 21 RDC (FSH4BAS)

spend the coins and get a 27P Hydro IV thru hub in a 27 pitch

done tons of testing on 21XRD/250 XS........if my 28 bravo didn't carry fishing loads so well, it would be the hydro as it is typically 1.5 faster........if you just fish and want efficiency and load carrying capabilities, the bravo and hydro thru hubs are hard to beat.......speed isn't in my scope of cares so the above are my recommendations for a fishing prop........the Hydro will be built to your rig as Hydro will ask all the details of your setup.......if you get a Bravo, get a 28P with
1-1/16 front vent holes in the front and a set of PVS holes behind those left unplugged.......or you can go with dual PVS holes if youd like

all my testing with your setup likes to be 1" below pad to 1.75" below........the Bravo doesn't respond to height as much as the Hydro will.........1.75" for the Bravo and 1" for the Hydro......that is if your top 4 holes on your Torquemaster are plugged

Re: Need setup info for Bullet 21 RDC (jclark408)

    Thanks J Clark,
    Good Info.
I really only have one shot to get this right, which is part of the reason I am going with the hydraulic jackplate. I wont have a ton of extra money to blow on different props, which is why I was looking for the best all around from the get go. If I get 85 mph out of the setup I'll be more than happy. It's odd but I would have never guessed a Bravo. As for the vent holes and what difference they make in setup......I'm clueless to be honest, and wouldn't really know what to look for or why. This will be my first true hi performance rig. I'm sure the dealer will get it pretty close, but I would just like to hear what others have. Surprisingly there are very, very few setups that are alike, and it's getting to be a little frustrating trying to figure out if there is a good setup that several people have the same and consider optimal. I fully intend to go with a dual power pole setup and linked electronics package, so all this along with the Hydro Jack is starting to add a good bit of weight I know, but I still would like to see the 85 mark if possible with the 250 Horse Opti.

Re: Need setup info for Bullet 21 RDC (FSH4BAS)

85 will be very achievable with the Hydro.....they will dual PVS hole it for you when you tell them your setup and what you are looking for.......I have ran a 27P over 85 on my rig.......solo, 1/2 gas, all tackle........but to me, I want to have a setup that performs with 2 people and full loads and the Bravo does just that just a smidge slower than the Hydro.......I got it much cheaper as well .......the dealership I got my rig from does the big vent holes and that didn't provide quite enough ventilation at takeoff for me so when I had Mark blueprint it, I had another set of PVS holes drilled and left them open.........that allows exhaust to vent out the hub and puts the blades in "bubbles" of exhaust air allowing the prop to break free and get the boat on plane very fast........the Hydro will do the same with dual PVS holes.........the holeshot on your rig will be a stomp it and pull instantaneously rather than a stomp it, bog/fast slip/grab and go type holeshot which you will have with the Trophy style over the hub props.........different strokes for different folks but I like the pull and go of the thru-hubs with vents

if you need any more help with your rig, feel free to ask
