Any central LA guys fish Larto Lake? I am thinking of fishing a tournament in a couple weeks but have never been out there. Have a National Guard tournament on Sept. 3rd

Wish I could help but haven't fished it probably since march at least for bass. I also have a tx at the end of the month which is my last club tx for the year. So I'll be out there but won't be until after your tx. Around the island are cypress tree and there are docks along the road. I'm sure there are brush piles out and about. I just don't know where for now. Shad lake area should have some grass and pads around the shallow areas.

The main lake you can run as well on both sides of the island up to a certain point. At the end of the island its stumpy but doubt you can fish cause it's shallow. On the opposite end of larto (heading towards weir) it's also gets shallow and have some stumps. Shad lake are you need to know where the channel is to run also. There are no markers/boat roads.

I went Saturday afternoon, it was tough, but with all the rain it has come up, Boat lanes are non existant. The main Lake of Saline would be were id fish, but if you have never been scratch that idea! If Coullion sends you those maps concentrate on the two ends of the lake, Lots of stumps to fish in Shad lake, however the pads and grass never made it this year due to high water. I caught a few there Sat

    Re: Larto Lake? (brianranger188vx)

You will be right in the middle of Larto Lake itself. There is tons of water to fish, but If you have never been just hit the trees on Larto Island and stick it out. Take a right out of buds and you cant miss it. There is grass if you take a left out of buds and go to the end of the lake by the road! Good top water area early Thats the best advice i can give you without driving you from Larto to Saline lake to show you around.
