Yeah, a bay boat, best of both worlds, peacefulness in the river bass fishing, big fish in bay & ocean !!

I only use yamalube. I have used that in past two yamaha's exclusively, and have never had a problem.
Here in bass boat/Merc/E-rude country kinda hard to find Yamalube. I guess that is what I get for buying a bay boat.

Your going to get alot of answers here and they all are tried and true, but my personal favorite is Amsoil HP INJECTOR. Its a 100% Synthetic and is cheaper than Yamalube.
Yamalube,no problems ever with several different motors.![]()

I'm sure the "official" Yamaha answer is Yamalube. But in the real world, any decent TCW3 rated oil should work, just some better than others. It's sort of like asking what brand boat is best, you will get 10 different answers from 10 different people.
I use Pennzoil Marine 100% synthetic. A lot of the salt water crowd have switched over to it and love it. My boats prior owner was using Mercury Premium Plus, but I've switched as I can get the Pennzoil for about the same price at Walmart. No noticable smoking and reduced carbon on the hub so it must be working.
