Re: Tahoe or Silverado (The Parts Chicklet)

Megan, thats a tough call. I had a lifted Dodge Ram 2500 HD that I sold for a Chevy Suburban Z71. Both did what I needed but each has their own positives and negatives.

Burban Positives: looks good, drives nice, comfortable for road trips, DVD player, seats fold down, better MPG and still pulls as nice as the silverado.

Downsides: is a stationwagon on steriods, can't haul dirt, rocks, sand etc... and sucks trying to put a dead deer in.

Silverado Positives: look good, drives nice, comfortable for road trips, looks kick azz when lifted and pulls as nice as the suburban

Downsides: can't lock stuff up as well, MPG not as good and my wife said I can't have one

    Re: Tahoe or Silverado (Tagg007)

I had the same delima a year and a half ago. Came down to the fact that I could get a newer truck then Tahoe for the same money. Now that I did I am Soooooooo glad. I can still haul things that are messy or to big to fit in a Tahoe, and with the four full size doors I can ride 6 adults with no problem. Go with the truck and don't look back.

If you have kids, TRUST me, the 4 door "crew" cab is the only way to go. Mine has the suicide doors and it's tight in the back with the car seat.....

The girls are only going to get bigger. I would recommend the crew cab with four full sized doors. Depends on what your wanting to haul... you could get tonneau (sp?) cover which would allow you to secure things in the back. Then you'd have a HUGE trunk when you go shopping!!!

Weird thing is my wife wants to get rid of our darn clean 99 Sub, 88,000 original miles to get a crew cab pick-up.

    Re: Tahoe or Silverado (dukhntr)

I had a 2002 Silverado new 7.3.02...put 126k miles on it and best truck ever...
now have a used 2007 Silverado with 49k miles (bought 1st week last April)...its doing well so far also...did get a 12k warranty which I ALWAYS recommend if at all possible...obvious diffs in the 2 trucks: 02 better mpg cause 07 has the E85 engine thing...and 07 has bigger tires plus the digital readouts for many things. Both pull the ZX200 well.
